Terms of Service
Overview
Current Practice provides brand, design, motion and digital services for clients across various sectors. These Terms of Service outline the conditions under which projects are quoted, produced and delivered. By engaging Current Practice, you agree to the following terms.
Scope of Work
All projects are based on the written scope provided in the quote or proposal.
Any work outside of this scope will be treated as additional and billed at the studio’s hourly rate unless otherwise agreed.
Requests outside of scope may affect timelines and cost.
Rates, Billing & Payment Terms
Hourly Rate
$75/hr
Minimum 1 hour per task
Charged in 0.5-hour increments thereafter
Payment Schedule
Unless otherwise agreed, the billing structure for projects is:
50% deposit to commence
50% final payment prior to release of final files
Payment Terms
Invoices are due within 7 days.
Work may be paused for overdue invoices.
Final files, website deployment or asset release will occur after the final invoice is paid.
Revisions
Current Practice aims to keep the process efficient and respectful of time. Unless explicitly included in a quoted scope, projects typically allow for:
Up to 2 minor revisions per major deliverable
Additional revisions or conceptual changes beyond this will be billed at the hourly rate.
Minor Revisions
A minor revision refers to small, reasonable adjustments made to an agreed design direction that do not alter the overall concept, structure, or strategy of the work.
Minor revisions may include:
Copy edits or small wording changes
Adjustments to colour, scale, spacing, or alignment
Minor typographic refinements (e.g. font weight, tracking, hierarchy tweaks)
Swapping supplied images or assets for alternatives of a similar style
Small layout refinements that do not change the approved structure
Minor revisions do not include:
Changes to the approved concept, creative direction, or strategy
Requests for alternative concepts or directions
Significant layout reworks or restructuring of content
Addition of new content, pages, features, or deliverables
Revisions resulting from changes to the project brief after approval
Any request that falls outside the above definition will be considered a major revision and may incur additional fees and/or impact project timelines.
Client Responsibilities
To maintain timelines and deliver work efficiently, the client agrees to:
Provide clear and consolidated feedback
Supply required content, assets, and approvals in a timely manner
Ensure all feedback is from a single, nominated decision-maker
Avoid unnecessary delays (see Timelines section)
Timelines & Feedback Loops
Project timelines rely on efficient feedback loops. Delays in providing content, approvals, or feedback may result in:
Extension of delivery dates
Additional costs if timelines or priorities need reshuffling
Any agreed timeline assumes client availability during the project window.
Font Licensing
Current Practice does not cover the cost of font licensing.
If a brand requires a paid/commercial font, the client is responsible for purchasing the appropriate license(s).
Open-source fonts may be used if no licensing budget exists.
Current Practice will advise on suitable type options, but ownership and compliance remain the client’s responsibility.
Stock Images, Video & Third-Party Assets
Costs for stock images, stock videos, illustrations or other paid assets are not included unless specified.
These will be charged at cost or purchased directly by the client.
Third-Party Subscriptions & Platforms
If a project requires subscriptions or tools (e.g., Vimeo for video hosting, plugins, website add-ons), the client is responsible for covering these costs.
Digital Deliverables & File Release
Final deliverables will be supplied as outlined in the proposal. Working files (e.g., .indd, .ai, .psd, .fig) are not included unless negotiated and may incur additional licensing or release fees.
Intellectual Property
Upon full payment, the client receives rights to the final, approved design assets.
All rejected concepts remain the property of Current Practice.
Current Practice retains the right to showcase completed work for portfolio, awards, and marketing purposes unless confidentiality is agreed to in writing.
Website Development
For website projects, the client agrees to:
Provide hosting access, credentials, domain information and third-party integrations where required
Cover hosting, domain, security, plugin and platform fees
Small website animations may be included depending on the scope.
Cancellations & Paused Projects
If a project is cancelled or paused for more than 21 days:
Work completed to date will be invoiced
Deposits are non-refundable
Restarting a project may require a new timeline or fee
Liability
Current Practice is not liable for:
Errors in content provided by the client
Losses arising from delays caused by the client or external suppliers
Technical issues relating to third-party platforms, hosting providers, plugins or software
Acceptance of Terms
By commissioning any work from Current Practice, the client acknowledges and agrees to these Terms of Service.
